Tagnook Refund, Return & Reprint Policy

Business: 1001064988 Ontario Inc., carrying on business as Tagnook ("Tagnook", "we", "us", "our") Version: 1.0 Effective: August 12, 2026 Last updated: August 12, 2026 Contact: support@tagnook.com — orders, returns, shipping, product and recovery Schools, daycares, camps, teams, wholesale and bulk: sales@tagnook.com

We make things with your child's name printed on them, and that one fact shapes this whole policy — though not in the way you might expect.

A label that says Maya R. is worth nothing to anyone but Maya. We can't put it back on a shelf. Plenty of shops use exactly that to stamp personalized goods final sale. We don't. Change your mind within 30 days, send it back unused, and we refund it — name and all. That cost is ours to carry, not yours.

Beyond that, we stand behind the things we actually control: the printing, the sticking, the materials, and getting your order right. If a label fails in normal use any time in the first 12 months, we reprint it or refund it and you keep the original. If we got your order wrong, we fix it free and you ship nothing back. If you got it wrong, we still help.

This policy applies to purchases from the Tagnook online store, shipped within Canada, in Canadian dollars (CAD). It sits alongside our Terms of Service and our Recovery & Reward Program Terms. Where those documents cover the same ground, this one controls for refunds, returns, cancellations and reprints.

0. The short version

Our promise in one paragraph. Change your mind within 30 days and your money goes back to the card you paid with — personalized items included, which simply come back to us unused. If a Tagnook label peels, fades, runs, or stops sticking in normal use within 12 months, we reprint it or refund it free, your choice, and you keep the original. If your order arrives damaged, misprinted, or plain wrong, same again, and we pay every cent of shipping in both directions. If a parcel never turns up, we reprint and reship it free — no police report, no carrier claim, no proof required from you. If you typed the name wrong, we'll still reprint it once and ask only $5 toward postage. Nothing here takes away any right you have under your province's consumer-protection law.

1. What this policy covers

1.1 Who it applies to. This policy applies to you if you bought from the Tagnook online store as a consumer. To place an order, hold an account, or make a claim under this policy you must be 18 or older, or the age of majority in your province or territory if it is higher. Wholesale, school-fundraising, daycare, camp, team and bulk orders are governed by the written quote or agreement for that order — write to sales@tagnook.com — and where that agreement is silent, this policy fills the gap.

1.2 What "personalized" means here. A product is personalized if we printed, engraved, or produced it to your specification — most commonly a name, but also a chosen design, colour combination, icon, or custom text. Almost everything in our name-label, shoe-label, sticker and kit ranges is personalized the moment it enters production.

1.3 What "stock" means here. A product is stock (or non-personalized) if it is identical to every other unit we sell and carries nothing unique to you. Blank recovery tags, un-activated QR and NFC tags, hardware, and any item sold without a personalization step are stock items.

1.4 Kits and multipacks. A kit is priced as a bundle. If you return part of a kit, the refund is calculated pro-rata against the kit price, not against the individual retail prices of the pieces — so returning a third of a kit refunds a third of what you paid for the kit. If the whole kit comes back, you get the whole kit price. See §12.2 for what happens when a return drops an order below the amount that earned a discount or a free item.

1.5 Taxes and currency. Every refund is issued in Canadian dollars and includes the GST or HST you paid on the refunded amount. Our GST/HST registration number is 736444027 RT0001.

2. Stock items — a normal 30-day return

If it doesn't have a name on it, you get an ordinary return window, no reasons required.

2.1 The window. Tell us within 30 days of delivery that you want to return a stock item. You then have a further 14 days to get it in the mail to us.

2.2 Condition. The item must be unused, undamaged, and complete, in its original packaging with any seal, backing sheet, or tamper strip intact. For a recovery tag, "unused" also means never activated (see §9).

2.3 Refund or exchange — you choose. We don't steer you toward store credit. Take your money back, or take a different product; it's your call, not ours.

2.4 Who pays the postage. For a change-of-mind return, you cover return postage. If the return is because of anything we did — wrong item, damage, a defect, a mistake in your order — we cover it, and we usually don't even need the item back (see §7).

2.5 No restocking fee. Ever. We don't charge one, and we won't start.

2.6 Original shipping. Shipping is free on every order, so there is never an outbound shipping charge to refund or to withhold. A return simply refunds the price of the goods under the rules above; where a return is our fault, we also cover the cost of any replacement or return leg (see §7).

2.7 How and when you get your money. Refunds go back to the original payment method — the card, wallet, or account you paid with. We don't refund by cheque, e-transfer, or cash. We process approved refunds within 2 business days of receiving the item back or approving your claim, and your bank or card issuer typically posts it within a further 3 to 10 business days. That last stretch is their timeline, not ours, but tell us if it stalls and we'll chase the receipt for you.

2.8 Where your order data lives. Orders, payments and refunds are processed through Shopify, our order and payment system of record, and Shopify may store order data outside Canada, including in the United States. Recovery data — the information behind a tag scan — is stored in Canada (AWS ca-central-1). Our Privacy Policy is the full account of both.

3. Personalized items — returnable too, with one honest condition

Most personalized-goods sellers write "custom items are final sale" here. We're not doing that.

3.1 You can change your mind on a personalized item. Within 30 days of delivery, tell us and you get a full refund to your original payment method, or an exchange — your choice. No restocking fee. We do not ask you to justify it, and "I ordered too many," "she changed schools," or "I just don't need them" are all fine answers.

3.2 The one condition: it comes back to us, unused. A named pack can't be resold and can't be verified from a distance, so for a change-of-mind return on a personalized item we do need the goods back — unused, complete, backing sheets and packaging intact. Send it within 14 days of telling us. This is the single place in this whole policy where being personalized costs you anything, and what it costs you is postage, not the refund.

3.3 Return postage. On a change-of-mind return, you cover it. On anything that is our fault — a misprint, a defect, damage, the wrong item — we cover every leg, and in almost every case there is nothing to send back at all (§7).

3.4 A partly used pack isn't a change-of-mind return. Once labels are on lunch kits and shoes, we can't take the rest back as "unused." But you are not out of options: if the labels failed, §4 covers them for a full 12 months whether the pack is opened or not.

3.5 We show you exactly what will print, before you pay. You see a live preview at the personalization step, the same text again in your cart, and it again in your order confirmation email. That confirmation email is the record we both work from if there's ever a question about what was ordered.

3.6 We cannot un-print something already shipped. Once an item has left our facility we cannot recall, alter, or destroy it. Deleting your data from our systems does not retrieve a physical label already in your hands or in transit. Please check the spelling on the preview before you confirm.

4. Our 12-month print and stick guarantee

This is the promise that matters most, and it applies to personalized and stock items alike.

4.1 What we guarantee. For 12 months from the date your order is delivered, if a Tagnook label or sticker fails in normal, intended use, we will reprint it or refund it, your choice, at no cost to you. "Fails" means it:

  • lifts, peels, curls, or stops sticking to the surface it was designed for;
  • fades, runs, smears, blurs, or becomes unreadable;
  • has a laminate that bubbles, clouds, delaminates, or separates;
  • cracks, splits, or disintegrates;
  • or arrives with a printing fault — misalignment, streaking, wrong colour, cut-off text.

4.2 You keep the item and send nothing back. For a guarantee claim we ask for a photo, not a parcel. Mailing a failed sticker across the country helps nobody. A clear photo of the problem and your order number is enough.

4.3 We pay all shipping on a guarantee claim, in both directions if a return is ever needed.

4.4 What we replace. We replace the affected labels. If the failure looks like a batch or production issue rather than a one-off, we reprint the whole pack, not just the ones that failed.

4.5 What the guarantee does not cover. It doesn't cover a label that failed because of how it was used rather than how it was made:

  • application to a dirty, oily, wet, dusty, greasy, powder-coated, silicone, or heavily textured surface, or one it wasn't designed for;
  • application to skin, hair, food, a mouthguard, or anything that goes in the mouth;
  • deliberate removal, picking, peeling, cutting, or defacing;
  • exposure to solvents, bleach, acetone, industrial cleaners, or direct flame;
  • direct-to-fabric application where the product instructions say to apply to the care tag instead;
  • ordinary consumption — a sticker used up as intended is not a defect;
  • and normal cosmetic wear that doesn't stop the label doing its job.

4.6 A plain note on what we do and don't claim. Our labels are sold as waterproof, and we stand behind that with this guarantee. We do not publish laboratory wash-cycle, dishwasher, or heat-tolerance numbers, and we won't invent any. If a label of ours fails in the ordinary running of a family — the lunch kit, the water bottle, the daycare bin, the wash — that is our problem to fix, and §4.1 is how we fix it.

4.7 Recovery tags. Physical recovery tags carry the same 12-month guarantee against cracking, breakage, an unreadable QR code, or an NFC chip that stops responding in normal use. See §9.3 for how we move your registration when we replace one.

4.8 A safety note. Labels and tags are not toys and should be applied by an adult. Keep small parts and backing sheets away from young children.

4.9 How many free reprints — the outer limit. We set this number deliberately high, because a limit only has to catch the rare case. Free reprints and free replacement shipments under §4, §7 and §8 are limited to five (5) per order and fifteen (15) per account in any rolling 12 months. If you ever approach those numbers, something is genuinely wrong with our product or our printing and we would like to hear about it directly — reaching a limit doesn't end the conversation, it just means the next free reprint stops being automatic and becomes a decision we make with you, case by case. These are limits on the free reprints we offer voluntarily; they do not touch any right you hold under consumer-protection legislation (§16).

4.10 Photos. A photo is how we usually settle a claim in a single email, so we'll always ask for one. We won't hold up a straightforward first claim over a missing photo. We do reserve the right to require photo evidence before reprinting where the claim doesn't match how the product behaves in normal use, or where an account is well past the ordinary run of claims.

4.11 When we ask for the item back. Rarely, and for a reason we'll tell you: usually a hardware or tag fault we want to inspect so it doesn't happen to anyone else. We may also require the item back before reprinting where what's described is inconsistent with normal use. When we ask, we send a prepaid label — you never buy return postage for a claim under this section — and if the item isn't sent back within 30 days of us asking, we may close that claim.

4.12 When we can say no. Almost nobody misuses a guarantee like this one. Because a few people do, we reserve the right to decline a claim, and in rare cases to withdraw this guarantee from an account, where the pattern of claims sits far outside normal use. To be concrete rather than vague about it, the patterns we mean are: a run of "never arrived" claims across separate orders; a defect claim used to obtain a free duplicate set of the same labels; free reprints or replacements being resold. If we ever do this, we will tell you in writing and tell you why, we will refund anything you have paid for that we have not supplied, and you can ask for a second person to review it (§14.1). The decision is made by a person, not by an automated rule.

5. Order changes and cancellations

5.1 The cutoff is production, not shipping. You can change or cancel any order at no cost up until it enters production. Once a personalized item enters production, the name is already committed to material and we can no longer cancel it.

5.2 Personalized production starts fast. Our printing pipeline is automated, so a personalized order can enter production within about two hours of being placed, including evenings and weekends. Please don't wait until Monday.

5.3 How to reach the cutoff. Email support@tagnook.com immediately with CANCEL and your order number in the subject line. That routes it to the front of the queue. Please don't use a reply to a marketing email or a social message for a cancellation — those aren't monitored quickly enough to catch a production run.

5.4 If you make it in time, we cancel the order and refund you in full, including shipping, to your original payment method.

5.5 If you miss it. We will still cancel and refund any stock items in the order, and any items that haven't entered production. For personalized items already in production, we can't cancel — but if the reason you wanted to cancel was a mistake in what you typed, go straight to §6, which is written for exactly that moment. And if you simply changed your mind, §3 is still open to you once the parcel arrives.

5.6 Orders we cancel. If we cancel an order at our end — an obvious pricing or description error we're correcting, a product we can't supply, a delivery address we can't serve, or a reasonable suspicion of fraud or misuse — we refund everything you paid, in full, to your original payment method. We may do this before or after we've accepted the order. See also §15.2 and our Terms of Service, sections 3.1 and 3.4.

6. Typos and things you typed

Here's the honest split, both halves of it.

6.1 We print exactly what you type. The name, spelling, capitalization, accents and spacing you enter are what goes on the label. We show you a live preview and ask you to confirm it before checkout, and we do not "correct" a name — because Kaityln might well be exactly how it's spelled, and unusual spellings are the whole reason people buy name labels. We can't tell a typo from a family's spelling, so we don't guess.

6.2 So the spelling is on you. A misspelling you entered is not a printing defect, and it isn't covered by the guarantee in §4. Your order confirmation email shows the exact text that went to print, character for character; that email is the record.

6.3 And we'll reprint it anyway. Once per order, within 30 days of delivery, we will reprint the mistyped items with the corrected text and mail them to you. You pay a flat $5 CAD toward postage, and nothing else. No charge for the labels, the ink, the material, or the setup.

6.4 The limits, stated plainly. One goodwill reprint per order. The corrected reprint is the same product, quantity and size as the original — it isn't a chance to change product, upgrade a pack, or switch to a different design. The goodwill reprint doesn't itself come with a second goodwill reprint, though it does carry the full 12-month guarantee in §4 like anything else we print.

6.5 Wrong option, not wrong spelling. If you picked the wrong size, pack count, or design and the item is personalized, §6.3 applies the same way — one reprint, $5 postage. If the correct item costs more, we'll ask you to pay the difference; if it costs less, we refund the difference.

6.6 This is goodwill, and it stays goodwill. §6.3 is something we choose to do, not something this policy obliges us to do, and we may decline it where the pattern of requests on an account is far outside normal use — for example, a corrected-text reprint requested repeatedly on the same order to build up a second free set. If you'd rather have your money back than a reprint, the ordinary 30-day return in §3 is open to you on its own terms.

7. Damaged, defective, or the wrong item

7.1 Tell us within 30 days of delivery. Email support@tagnook.com with your order number and, if you can, a photo or two — the item, and where relevant the packaging and shipping label. Photos let us fix it in one message instead of five.

7.2 What you get. Your choice of a free replacement or reprint, or a full refund including all shipping. If only part of the order is affected, you can take a refund on that part and keep the rest.

7.3 We pay every shipping cost connected with a damaged, defective, or wrong item — outbound, replacement, and return, if a return is needed at all.

7.4 Usually there's nothing to send back. For printed goods we almost never need the item returned. If we do ask for it — typically a hardware or tag fault we want to inspect, or a case that falls under §4.11 — we send you a prepaid label. Never buy your own return postage for a claim under this section.

7.5 Missing from a parcel. If something on your packing slip isn't in the box, tell us within 30 days of delivery and we'll send the missing item free.

8. Parcels that never arrive

Nobody else in this category publishes a firm rule here. We're going to.

8.1 The wait. Because every order travels untracked, contact us once 15 business days have passed since dispatch with no delivery — 25 business days for Yukon, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and remote postal codes. These match the wait periods in our Shipping Policy §10, which controls on delivery timing.

8.2 What we do then. We reprint and reship your order free, once, by tracked mail. If you'd rather not wait for a second attempt, take a full refund instead — your choice, not ours.

8.3 What we don't ask you for. No police report. No statutory declaration. No carrier claim form. No photo. No proof of any kind that the parcel didn't arrive. Your word and your order number are the whole of it.

8.4 It should have arrived but hasn't. Ordinary mail sometimes runs late, or a carrier leaves it with a neighbour, in a mail room, behind a gate, or in a parcel locker. Please check those first, then — once the section 8.1 wait has passed — tell us within 30 days of the latest delivery estimate and we will reship free, once.

8.5 Address errors. If a parcel is returned to us or lost because the shipping address you gave was incomplete or incorrect, we'll gladly reprint and reship it free, within the fair-use limits in our Shipping Policy. Please double-check your address at checkout — for personalized goods it's the one thing we can't fix on our end.

8.6 If parcels keep going missing at one address. This is not an accusation, it's a fix. Where two non-delivery reprints have gone to the same address inside 12 months, we move that account to tracked, signature-required shipping at our expense before we reprint again — because at that point the letter mail is the problem and we'd rather solve it than keep reprinting into it. If parcels continue to go missing after that, a free reprint stops being automatic under §4.9 and we'll ask you for a different delivery address, or offer a refund instead.

8.7 How this squares with our Terms. Our Terms of Service say risk of loss passes on delivery to the carrier. This section is us choosing to carry that risk for you anyway, as a matter of practice. We'd rather reprint a pack of labels than argue about a carrier scan.

9. Recovery tags — activated and un-activated

Recovery tags are a physical product attached to a live service, so they need their own rules. These sit alongside our Recovery & Reward Program Terms.

9.1 An un-activated tag returns like any stock item. If you never registered it — the code has never been bound to an account — it comes back under §2: 30 days, unused, undamaged, packaging and code intact, full refund to your original payment method.

9.2 An activated tag is not ordinary stock, because the code is now bound to your account and to the item you registered. It is no longer a generic piece of inventory and it can never be issued to anyone else.

9.3 What we do instead.

  • Changed your mind, within 30 days of delivery. Write to us and we will deactivate the tag and refund it. Thirty days is the whole window — there is no 60- or 90-day route back for an activated tag. We do this as a goodwill practice rather than an obligation, and we may decline it where the tag has already been used to run a real recovery, or where the pattern on the account is far outside normal use.
  • A tag that broke or stopped scanning, within 12 months. We replace it free under §4.7, and we move your registration to the new tag so your item stays covered and you don't have to set anything up again.
  • A lost tag. A tag that's gone missing with the item isn't a defect, but tell us — we can retire the code so it can't be scanned, and help you get a replacement onto the item if it comes home.

9.4 Refunding a tag ends the recovery service for that tag — permanently. Let's say it plainly: when we refund an activated tag, we deactivate it, unbind it from your account, and permanently retire its code. From that moment the tag stops working. Scanning it will no longer reach you, no message can be relayed, and the code cannot be reactivated, reassigned, transferred, or issued to anyone else — not to you, and not to a future customer. If that tag is on a backpack your child still carries, please take it off, because it is now just a piece of plastic. If you want recovery coverage back, you'll need a new tag.

9.5 Deleting your account does the same thing. As set out in our Recovery & Reward Program Terms, deleting your account or a registered tag deactivates it. That is not a refund and doesn't create one.

9.6 What a recovery tag actually is — so a refund is never how you find out. A Tagnook tag is a passive QR/NFC label. It has no battery, no GPS, no beacon and no live location, and it cannot be used to track or locate a person. It does nothing at all until a person chooses to scan it. When someone does, they reach a simple web page and can send you a message through us. Here is the rest of it, stated as fact so you can decide inside your 30 days rather than after:

  • We notify you by email. The Service does not send SMS or text messages.
  • A finder can send you text. The Service does not include photo upload — a finder cannot attach a photo — and it does not include finder location sharing.
  • The Service does not offer an encrypted vault, and no part of the Service is zero-knowledge or end-to-end encrypted. Relay messages are recorded and retained for safety, are visible to you as the item's owner, and may be disclosed in response to a lawful request.
  • A Tagnook thank-you to a finder is store credit. We do not pay cash rewards, and we do not hold, route, or move money between an owner and a finder.
  • We never ask you for a child's name for recovery. The name printed on a label is not copied into the recovery record. You can optionally set a display name for an item; we ask you not to use a child's name, and if you flag an item as a child's, any display name is removed from the finder page automatically.

Tagnook is not a child-safety, emergency, tracking or medical device. If a child is missing, call 911.

9.7 No guarantee of recovery. Refunds under this policy relate to products you bought. The recovery service carries no guarantee that a lost item will be found or returned — that depends on a stranger finding it and choosing to help, which nobody controls. An item that wasn't recovered is not a product defect and isn't a refund matter. The full picture is in our Recovery & Reward Program Terms.

9.8 How long the recovery service runs, and what happens if it ever stops. We provide the recovery service for as long as we operate it, and for a minimum of five (5) years from the date you activate a tag. There is no subscription and no renewal fee — it is included in the price of the tag. If we ever discontinue the service, we will give at least 180 days' notice by email; your tags keep resolving through the entire notice period; you can export your records; and we will refund the recovery-enabled portion of the price for any tag activated in the 12 months before that notice.

9.9 Only the rightful owner activates a tag. A tag belongs to the person who bought it or to someone they authorize, and only that person may activate, register, or claim it. Activating a tag you don't own, claiming someone else's tag, bulk-activating tags for resale, or scanning tags to harvest owners' contact details is prohibited — it voids the tag with no refund, and we may refuse, suspend, or reverse the activation. This protects every owner, including you: it is the reason a stranger cannot take over the tag on your child's backpack.

9.10 If you bought a case with an AirTag included. The AirTag inside is genuine Apple hardware, and it is not ours to warrant. Two things follow, and we would rather you knew both before you order than after.

  • Sealed and unpaired, it comes back. If you have not paired the AirTag to your Apple ID, return it with the case under §2 and we refund both.
  • Paired, it cannot come back. Pairing links the AirTag to your Apple ID. From that moment it is yours — it cannot be unlinked back into sellable stock, so we cannot accept it as a return and cannot refund it. Pair it when you are sure. The Tagnook case is still returnable under §2 either way, so changing your mind about the case does not cost you the AirTag, and changing your mind about the AirTag does not cost you the case.

9.11 The AirTag's warranty is Apple's, not ours. Apple's own limited warranty covers the AirTag, and Apple — or an Apple Authorised Service Provider — handles claims on it directly. We are not an Apple service provider: we cannot repair, replace, or warrant Apple hardware, and we cannot make a warranty claim on your behalf.

One exception, and we mean it. If the AirTag arrives dead, damaged, or is the wrong item, that is ours to fix. Tell us within 30 days and we will make it right under §7. After that window, Apple's warranty is the right route and we will point you at it.

AirTag is a trademark of Apple Inc. Tagnook is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.

10. Store credit and reward credit

10.1 Credit is credit, not cash. Tagnook store credit — including any reward credit issued for a confirmed return — is closed-loop: redeemable only at Tagnook, toward Tagnook products. It has no cash value, never expires, cannot be exchanged, transferred by the holder, assigned, sold, or withdrawn for cash, and is not refundable.

10.2 No fees against it, ever — no dormancy, maintenance, activation, or usage fee, consistent with Québec consumer-protection rules on prepaid credit.

10.3 If you paid partly with store credit and we refund that order, the store-credit portion goes back to your store-credit balance and the money portion goes back to your original payment method. Credit does not convert into money on the way back.

10.4 Reward funding is non-refundable. If you purchased store credit to fund a larger reward for a finder, that purchase is a completed sale and is non-refundable, as set out in our Recovery & Reward Program Terms. Unused funding returns to your own store-credit balance, never to your card.

10.5 The reward limits, published up front. These caps are binding terms of the reward feature, and we'd rather you saw them here than discovered them later:

  • A Tagnook-funded thank-you credit is a maximum of CAD $10 per confirmed return.
  • One reward per tag in any 180-day period.
  • A maximum of 5 rewards generated by any one owner's tags in 365 days.
  • A maximum of 3 rewards to any one finder in 365 days.
  • Rewards are issued after a 3-day review period, not instantly — that pause is how a person confirms a return really happened.
  • An owner-funded reward offer is capped at CAD $500 per offer, and at CAD $2,000 funded in any 24 hours.

Reaching one of these limits is not a refund matter and doesn't entitle anyone to money back; they cap a thank-you, not a purchase.

10.6 The full reward rules — how credit is earned, when it's issued, and when we may decline, withhold, reverse or cancel it where a "found" report is fabricated, where an owner and finder are working together, or where rewards are being farmed across accounts or tags — are in our Recovery & Reward Program Terms, which control on those questions. Every such decision is made by a person, with an appeal route by email.

11. Gift cards

Gift cards are final sale and cannot be returned, refunded, or exchanged for cash. They never expire, and we charge no dormancy, maintenance, activation, or usage fee of any kind — consistent with Ontario's and Québec's gift-card rules. Where provincial law gives you a right to redeem a small remaining balance in cash, we will honour it; just write to us. If a gift card is lost or stolen, tell us the code and the order it came from and we'll do what we can, but we can't replace value that has already been spent.

12. Sale items, and discount codes

12.1 Sale, clearance and seasonal items are treated exactly like full-price items. No exceptions, no special rules, no shorter windows. A back-to-school bundle bought at 40% off gets the same 30-day return, the same 12-month guarantee, the same free reprint on a misprint, and the same goodwill typo reprint as anything bought at full price. Refunds on discounted items are for the price you actually paid.

12.2 Discount and promotional codes. Codes are single-use unless we say otherwise, can't be combined with another offer unless we say so, have no cash value, and can't be sold, traded, or listed for sale. A code obtained by resale or by misrepresentation is void, and we may withdraw a code, or decline it on an order, where it is being used outside the way it was offered. If a return drops your order below the amount that earned a discount or a free item, we recalculate the refund accordingly — you can either send the free item back or we deduct its ordinary price from the refund. None of this affects the return window or the guarantee on what you keep.

13. How to start a return, a claim, or a reprint

13.1 One channel: email us. Write to support@tagnook.com. There's no portal to learn and no form to hunt for. A person reads it. You can also call us on 1 (613) 262-8136 during business hours, though email gets you a written record of what we agreed.

13.2 What to include. Your order number, what happened, and which items are affected. For anything damaged, misprinted, or failing, a photo helps enormously — a shot of the label on the item is ideal. For a typo reprint, tell us the exact corrected text.

13.3 What happens next. We reply within 1 business day. In most cases that first reply resolves it: we confirm the reprint or the refund and it's done.

13.4 Authorization before you ship anything. If your case needs the item returned, we'll give you a return authorization number and the return address in that reply. Please don't mail anything back before you have one — parcels arriving unannounced are difficult to match to an order and may be delayed. Write the authorization number on the outside of the parcel and keep your tracking number.

13.5 Where returns go. We accept returns at a Canadian address that we give you with your authorization. We don't publish it here, because most claims don't need a return at all.

14. If you disagree with us — and a word about chargebacks

14.1 Ask for a second look. If you're unhappy with our answer, say so in the same thread and ask for it to go to our Customer Care Lead. A second person reviews it fresh. No decision under this policy is made purely by an automated process, and none of them is final until a human has looked at it twice.

14.2 Come to us before you come at us through your bank. Filing a chargeback is your right and we won't hold it against you as a customer. We'd just rather have the chance first, because a chargeback takes weeks and usually lands somewhere we would have reached in a day, for free. Practically: a chargeback filed without contacting us first is treated as a disputed transaction rather than a return request, and we will respond to it with our records — the order, the personalization you confirmed, the delivery evidence, and our correspondence. While a dispute is open we may pause the account it relates to and hold any store credit on it, so that the same amount isn't refunded twice through two channels. We lift that as soon as the dispute closes, and if the outcome is in your favour — or if we simply agree with you — we finish the job.

14.3 Repeated chargebacks. Almost nobody does this. Where an account files repeated chargebacks on delivered orders without ever contacting us, we may decline future orders from that account and refund anything not yet supplied. We'll tell you in writing if we do.

15. Fair use of this policy

Nearly everything above runs on trust, and it works that way for almost every order we ship. The clauses in this section exist for the rare case where it doesn't, and they are written so you can see exactly what we can and can't do.

15.1 Orders we can refuse or cancel. We may refuse or cancel an order, before or after we accept it, where: an obvious pricing or description error needs correcting; we can't supply the product; we can't serve the delivery address; or we reasonably suspect fraud, misuse, resale in breach of these terms, chargeback abuse, or a breach of our Terms of Service. Anything you have paid for that we have not supplied is refunded in full to your original payment method.

15.2 Accounts. One account per person, please, with accurate details. You're responsible for keeping your login to yourself and for what happens under it. We may suspend or close an account, and deactivate tags on it, for the reasons in §15.1 — and again, anything paid for and not supplied comes back to you.

15.3 Resale and commercial use. Tags and labels are sold for your own household's or organisation's use. Reselling them, reselling recovery-service capacity, or using our store as a supply line for a competing service needs a written agreement with us first — sales@tagnook.com, and we're genuinely happy to talk. Without one, we may cancel and refund such an order. Free reprints and goodwill reprints in particular are for you, not for resale.

15.4 Automated ordering and system misuse. Please don't scrape or crawl the store, run bots or automated ordering, create accounts in bulk, enumerate or probe tag identifiers, test our security without written permission, reverse-engineer the Service, or work around rate limits. Orders placed by these means may be cancelled and refunded, and access may be suspended.

15.5 Artwork and text you send us to print. When you give us a name, a logo, an image, or any other artwork or text, you confirm that you own it or are licensed to use it, and you agree to cover us for any third-party intellectual-property claim that arises from what you asked us to print. We may refuse to print anything unlawful, infringing, hateful, obscene, or that impersonates another brand, and we may cancel and refund an order on that basis. If you believe something we've printed or displayed infringes your rights, write to support@tagnook.com with the details and we will review it, remove or disable what's appropriate, and act against repeat infringers.

15.6 When we act, you hear about it. If we decline a claim, cancel an order, suspend an account, or withdraw the guarantee, we tell you in writing, we tell you why, we refund anything paid for and not supplied, and you can ask for it to be reviewed by a second person at support@tagnook.com.

16. Your statutory rights are preserved

Nothing in this policy takes away, limits, or replaces a right or remedy you have under applicable Canadian federal or provincial consumer-protection legislation, and nothing here should be read as trying to.

In particular, Québec's Consumer Protection Act gives you a legal warranty that goods are fit for their intended use and will last a reasonable time, along with other protections that cannot be waived by contract. Those rights apply to you in full regardless of anything written above. Consumers in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, and the territories have comparable statutory protections, including implied warranties under provincial sale-of-goods and consumer-protection legislation. Where any term of this policy conflicts with a right you hold under that legislation, the legislation wins and that term simply doesn't apply to you.

The windows, caps and remedies in this policy — including the reprint limits in §4.9 and the decline rights in §4.12 and §15 — are what we offer on top of those rights, not instead of them.

17. Governing law, venue and changes

17.1 Governing law. This policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

17.2 Venue. Any proceeding relating to this policy may be brought in the courts of Toronto, Ontario. Nothing in this section prevents you from bringing proceedings in the courts of the province or territory where you live. If you live in Québec, you may bring proceedings in Québec, and nothing here waives any right you have to participate in a class action or any right you have under Québec's Consumer Protection Act.

17.3 Talk to us first. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us at support@tagnook.com and give us a fair chance to sort it out. Most things end there.

17.4 Changes to this policy. We may update it from time to time. Changes take effect when we post the updated version and we will update the "Last updated" date above. The version in effect on the day you placed your order is the one that applies to that order — we will not shorten a window or tighten a limit on you after the fact.
